Restoring Yellowstone National Park’s Native Fish Population – Guest Speaker Paul Bunker

March 18, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

To join via ZOOM Thursday March 18th @7pm click the link to Join our ZOOM Cloud HD Video Meeting or use Meeting ID: 879 8582 5840

A fellow Concord native, Paul will address the history and impact of the introduction of non-native lake trout (LKT) into Yellowstone Lake, on both the native Yellowstone Cutthroats (YCT) and the surrounding ecosystem.  In addition, he will discuss past, present and future efforts by the National Park Service, TU, and other conservation groups to restore the YCT to pre-LKT introduction levels.  Finally, Paul will discuss the status of YNP Volunteer Fly Fishing Volunteer Program, where citizen scientists from around the country come to Yellowstone and assist the park’s biologists in collecting vital data to help restore native fish populations throughout the park.  Who knows, maybe you’ll want to become a volunteer to fly fish for science too!
